The school was set up in 1950, which lies east of the famous Summer Mountain Resort. It’s one of the 24 key schools in Hebei province. In 1998, the school put up another single as “ The Third High School of Hebei Province”.In 2007, it become an exemplary school. The school covers an area of 60 mu met with more than 27000 ‘square meters’ building area. It has beautiful surroundings with trees, lawns and gardens in it as well as high standard modern facilities, including two teaching buildings, a lab building, an administration building and a dormitory building.
 
At present, there are 51 teaching classes with more than 3200 students .The school is proud of its excellent faculty.                         APPENDIX  OF  STANDARD  ENGAGEMENT CONTRACT
 
---------------------and -------------------(Nationality) teacher _----------------English Name ___-------------(Translated Name) make this additional contract, based on the agreements of the both sides, by whom the regulations should be obeyed during the contract    period.
I   Chengde Middle School is in charge of the foreign teacher’s temporary residence card, expert card and so on after he arriving at the school. The costs needed should be paid by the school.
II The foreign teacher’s working period is from----------------- to ---------------------        .
III The foreign teacher can enjoy the following treatments:
1.      Monetary salary is 5000RMB /month. The salary will be paid monthly with RMB from the day of starting work to the expiration of the contract. In case the time is shorter than a whole month, the payment shall be counted by day. The wage shall be paid in 100RMB per class.No more than 70% of the salary can be changed into foreign currencies monthly. The employed party shall pay the personal income tax in accord with the Personal Income Tax Law of The People's Republic of China.
2.      1.100 RMB for holiday travel should be paid before his leaving the school.
3.      The school will buy him one round- trip plane ticket or give him the money (RMB) worth the ticket .
4.      A flat with a TV set, a telephone, a refrigerator, a computer and a heater and air-conditioner in it. The cost for the telephone calls should be paid by the foreigner teacher.
5.      Have free medical care at school clinic. If treatment in hospital is needed, the school will pay 1000RMB totally (including the expenses on medicines). The expenses beyond the sum will be paid by foreign teachers themselves.
6.      The school apply medical insurance for the teacher.
IVWork Time, Rest and Holidays
1.  Less than 16 –18periods of class a week(45minutes classes).
2.  If the host institution arranges overtime work for the party employed, it will pay the                   employed party a salary higher than that normal work time according to legal standard.
3. The party employed is entitled to the following holidays and festivals in China:
 New Year's Day, Spring Festival, May Day, National Day and other holidays stipulated by laws      and regulations.
4. The party employed is entitled to one day for Christmas and holidays corresponding to their      nationalities and religions:
5. The party employed is entitled to the paid annual vacation. Employed party in educational institution under one academic year contract is entitled to a paid (winter or summer) vacation.
V
The foreign teacher should follow the school’s teaching regulations:
  1. Prepare lessons, write teaching plans and give classes attentively.
  2. The teaching methods are expected to be lively and interesting to make the students to practice more in class.
  3. The school has the right to attend the foreign teacher’s class and exchange ideas about teaching.
  4. Hold an examination at the end of each semester
 VISick leave and private affairs leave
1. Certificate from doctors for foreigners appointed by the host institution should be presented when the employed party asks for sick leave. If the sick leaves amount to less than 30 days within one contract term (one year or one academic year), the party employed shall be paid with 100% of the salary. In case the leaves exceed 30 days, the host institution has the right to terminate the contract, or, if the contract is not terminated, the 70% of the salary will be paid until the normal work is resumed.
During the term of the contract, the medical care expenses of the employed party in the hospital foreigners appointed by the local government during business errands shall be paid by the host institution; the medical expenses during private travels shall be covered by the employed party.
During the term of the contract, medical expenses incurred in Taiwan province, Hong Kong SAR, Macao SAR and places outside China will be covered by the employed party.
2. Private affairs leave of the employed party shall be approved by the host institution. The host institution will deduct the salary by day. In the contract term (one year or one academic year), the private affairs leaves should not exceed 10 days. The continuous private affairs leave shall be no more than 3 days, and two days' salary will be deducted for each day thereafter.
In case of absence from work without the host institution's permission, 3 days' salary will be deducted for each day absent. For serious circumstances, the host institution has the right to terminate the contract and investigate the liability of the employed party for violation .
VII The foreigner teacher is not allowed to be engaged in extra or profitable tasks outside the school without the school’s permission.The teacher is responsible for maintaining an appropriate manor with the individual he communciates with. The teacher is responsible with following all laws and guidelines of China and Chengde city.
VIIIConfirmation and change of every term of the appendix of the standard contract must be stipulated in written form through negotiation between the two parties. Any oral agreement will be regarded as invalid.
This appendix has equal validity of the standard contract and comprises an integral part of the contract.
